Description
Diatomaceous Earth is the fossilized shell of microscopic aquatic organisms known as diatoms. Diatoms are single-celled plants (algae or phytoplankton) that are the primary food source for marine life. These plants have been part of Earth’s ecology since prehistoric times, but their species still exist today in both salt and fresh water around the world.
The primary component of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is silicon dioxide. This naturally occurring substance is mined from ancient lake beds. It is composed of diatoms that have fossilized in ancient freshwater lake zones for thousands of years.
Diatom Nutri is 89-95 percent amorphous silicon dioxide. In addition to containing a high percentage of silicon dioxide, it also contains 15 essential trace minerals including phosphorus, selenium, calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, copper, zinc, and iron.
Food grade Diatomaceous Earth is a natural powder that works purely physically/mechanically, is not "chemical" and therefore has no chemical toxicity. Food grade Diatomaceous Earth has NO odor.
